Everyone is talking about New Year’s resolutions right now. I’ve never been a big resolution maker, mostly because by the end of January I’ve completely forgotten it or given up. This year I’m determined to not let that happen. Now that I’m a mom to my daughter Kensley I can’t make excuses any more for my poor behavior. I need to be an example for her because even though she’s just a baby I need to make these changes now.
I’m sure you’ve guessed it by reading the title of this but my resolution is to be more organized. I’m talking organized in all areas of my life. Baby, home, and blogging!
Today I’m going to share with you these six ways I plan to keep my house more organized. I tried to keep them simple enough so that I won’t break this resolution this year!
1.Do one load of laundry a day. This one will be hard for me. I hate laundry. Not so much the doing it but the putting the clothes away. Ugh. So I’m hoping by doing it more often that means I will have LESS to put away each time which works for me!!!
2.Sticking to a cleaning schedule like this one-
3. Packing/restocking my diaper bag every night.
4. Actually check the fridge and clean out old items BEFORE meal planning weekly. Can’t tell you guys how many times I buy things I didn’t need to buy! Saying goodbye to extras and being wasteful this year!!
5. Never leave a room empty handed – I sort of already do this but it’s a great reminder to help stay organized by picking things up on my way from one room to the next. My favorite thing is to make a pile at the end of the staircase that needs to be brought back upstairs. By the way, this pile is invisible to husbands – EVEN if it has some of their items in it, lol!
6. Keeping clothes off the floor. This is simple. I’m guilty of it. My husband is guilty of it the mostest. It’s a bad habit that has to stop and it’s such an easy thing for us to both start doing
Let me know in the comments if you’ll be joining me this year in trying to stay organized!
